Why SPECTATE when you can PARTICIPATE!!

The US Marshalls conducts training classes on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM on LRRS Race weekends.

Training is in the Media Center starting at 9:00 AM. The US Marshalls offers training to anyone interested in learning more about cornerworking. This can be someone who wants to work, or someone who is just interested in learning what those people all dressed in white really do. If you are a rider and just want to review what the flags mean, PLEASE stop by and we will review them with you. You do not have to intend to corner work to come and learn about these things.

What do you get out of it:
  • Safer track, with more educated people to help you if you need
  • Quicker clean up after incidents reducing waving yellow time, possibly avoiding some red flags
  • Faster lap times by being up close and watching the “fast guys”
  • Free lunch

It is possible to race and work:

Just let Race Control and your Corner Captain know when you sign up for an corner what practice and races you are in. Then come in before your race, and come back out after your race – it is highly discourage to visit any turn during your race!!

Check out this deal!

All Novices can receive 4 points towards advancement for working a full day as a Cornerworker. Work a corner that you have trouble with and learn by looking at it from the other side!! This is a one time, 4 point deal. To qualify you must work a complete day. You can work a 1/2 day at a time -- one 1/2 day must be in the morning and the other must be an afternoon.

If you want to continue working with the corner crews you can be placed in the corner of your choice, and it is flexible enough to fit the cornerworking around your racing. .

If you become a regular we put you on the worker's list which means you will get free gate entry on weekends that you are signed up to work, lunch, and the opportunity to watch any turn where you want to improve. Some positions are paid positions, so if you sign up to work early, chances are you will also receive compensation for your time.

See Laura or anyone in the Scales Garage in the morning or at lunch for details.
